The only good thing about DC’s obsessive nostalgic navel-gazing — writing stories whose only purpose is to reintroduce the elements the writers read when they were younger — is that they often have to reprint the original stories so the new ones make sense. A couple of months ago, I was excited to hear about TwoMorrows’ Wonder Woman Companion by Andy Mangels. Now, I’ve noticed that it’s been cancelled: WONDER WOMAN COMPANION BOOK CANCELLED! There's gonna be a few new variations on the Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Car that has caught a lot of people by surprise. It looks like Mattel will create a reissue of the '66 Batmobile they made last year ( what a surprise, ha ha! ) for 2009. This new version will sport some new tires on the car & the header card will have 2 variations: one has a plain background with concept art of the Batmobile

THOR GOD-SIZE SPECIAL #1 is a very pretty-looking comic, and I don't mind paying the $4 Marvel toll, even for a series I don't normally read, to get a 38-page Matt Fraction story plus a Walt Simonson reprint. (A 22-page story, on the other hand... well, I suspect I won't be buying certain titles much longer.)
